What's On Stage 2011: The Wonderful Window Of Wives

< previous next>

A freshly fragrant breeze is wafting through Moon Horse Towers today, as The Wonderful Window Of Wives is opened.

Gone is the general air of Men Left To Their Own Devices - a mixture of socks and pizza debris - and instead we have the delights of a fridge full of salad and a range of fine wines. Well, all right, one bottle of wine and a bag of lettuce leaves, but still - our other halves are here for a few days so we are trying to up our game.

Yesterday saw us taking in more shows in one day than for the whole week so far put together, and that mega-spreadsheet of everybody's Shows To See came into full effect when we sat around the living room table last night, plotting our routes and timings for today. Steve and I have a show to do at five o'clock, but the wives will be out there, stomping through the rain, mainlining art and culture on a rigorously devised timetable.

The best thing about The Wonderful Window Of Wives is, of course, that we can stop the pining away that dominated our first few days here (expressed through beer and lunchtime chips), but there's another vital aspect to look forward to. Next week, when the window closes and we're left to fend for ourselves, we can have a bit of an old sit down. All this culture is exhausting!
