But what on earth does that subtitle mean?
I’d better explain it
As it will form the basis
Of what we’ll be discussing this evening

An empirical approach means that
It is based on evidence
And not just something what someone made up
So if somebody else comes along
And repeats the experiments
They should always get the same result

I'm halfway through explaining what it means
I've told you it’s reliable
Now I'll show it's appliable
To this type of fictional being

Transmedia is when a story crosses many media
And characters exist in the same world
Star Wars, Star Trek, Doctor Who
DC and the MCU
Are good examples of how it all works

That is basically what it all means
But what I’ve not divested
Is why I’m interested
And why it matters to you and me

Because if this is how our culture’s
Gonna tell and share it’s stories
I think we ought to try and understand
How it works and what it means
And in a way we can agree
And that is basically – the plan

Is thus important for reasons discussed
In the world in which we're living
We need something to believe in
And that starts with information we can trust

After the first ever tryout of Data and Doctor Doom a few people noted that the song Transmedia wasn't working as well as it might, so I set out to have another go at roughly the same subject, while bringing in the explanation of 'empirical' that had previously just been done by me talking. This made the whole thing a bit quicker, and a bit more fun!
