Songs: Asking
notes / gigs / releasesIf you want to know what people think
There's many ways of doing it
One of the best ways, I think is
Asking
When I wanted to know people's views
That was the process that I used
Sent out a call on the internet
Which said
Have you got 20 minutes to answer some questions
About Doctor Doom for my PhD?
It would be very much appreciated if so
Details here and please RT
Please take my Doctor Doom survey!
Lots of people answered - lots and lots
Two hundred and twenty five all told
That is a very big response
It's a lot
To be honest some responses were really quite annoying
With pages of irrelevant opinions
A lot of people told me they didn't like the Tim Story movies
And hated the Josh Trank Picture
I thought it was OK
Thanks to all those who replied
I wasn't expecting 225
But what they gave me was just right
To surmise:
If you want to know what people think
There's many ways of doing it
One of the best ways, I think
Is asking

This was originally called "If You Want To Know What People Think" but I always think of it, and write it down, as "Asking" so that's the title now.
This is part of Data and Doctor Doom and covers the SURVEY what I did to find out what other people think Doctor Doom's components are. It was also a lot LONGER originally but I found that I was boring MYSELF droning on about stuff and realised I could make it about half the length without losing anything, so DID.
My favourite part of this one is the section about sending a tweet asking for help. I wanted to somehow convey what the tweet said but to also make it part of a song, and so was looking for ways to put words around it to make it RHYME. However, the first time I tried just SINGING it i realised that, flipping heck, it ALREADY DID!!
I was amazed, and took this as a SIGN that I was on the right track. Thanks, Me Of Several Years Ago, for RHYMING without even realising!
