GIGS WE'VE DONE

Just two gigs in June - I did a solo spot to a solo audience at Pop in London (thanks for coming Jon!), and next night had a LOVELY evening doing a Totally Acoustic set in sunny Cambridge.

RECORDS

"Better Things To Do" is OUT NOW! You should be able to order it from your friendly neighbourhood record shop (and if you do, don't forget to send me your photographs for THE HALLS OF VALIDATION - http://www.mjhibbett.net/hallsofvalidation/). You can also buy it direct from US (http://www.mjhibbett.net/buy/) or even via Amazon (http://www.mjhibbett.net/buy/amazon.htm).

"WE VALIDATE!", meanwhile, is out on July 10th, and you can pre-order it from ALL of the above places, if you'd like to. I really hope you WOULD like to buy it, it's dead good (honest), and OH! that gatefold sleeve is a thing of BEAUTY!

RADIO

Lots to report here - I did a LONG old interview with Claire Dickinson on Kooba Radio (http://www.koobaradio.co.uk) at the start of the month, which was a whole lot of fun, and she played six songs from the album! Rachel Neiman on Bailrigg FM played "Better Things To Do" first of anybody on May 28th, and shortly after that Phill Jupitus played it on his breakfast show. I was up early and listening to it, and sent him a very excitable text message to say thank you! It's also been played by Roger Hill on BBC Radio Merseyside (who's also played "The Lesson Of The Smiths"), On The Wire on BBC Radio Lancashire (and they played "The Gay Train" this week too), Totally Wired on Juice FM, Jim Morrish on CCR (he played "The Lesson Of The Smiths" as well) and by our pal Marcelle Van Hoof on Another Nice Mess.

Phew! That's the ones we know about anyway, hopefully there'll be even more when THE TOUR gets going!

OTHER THINGS

The reviews are slowly starting to trickle in - so far we've had lovely ones in Vanity Project (http://www.vanityproject.co.uk), Tangents (http://www.tangents.co.uk), Funky As Fudge (http://www.freewebs.com/funkyasfudge/) and Friends Of The Heroes (http://www.friendsoftheheroes.co.uk). There's quite a few that I know of that are waiting to go live, and there should (hopefully) be a few print versions to come in the next month or so. More news, as it happens, on the webpage!

I've also done a few interviews, one of which will be appearing in the next issue of Sandman Magazine... and in the issue after THAT one you should find my first regular COLUMN, "Tales From The Conference League". Pulitzer Committee, PREPARE THYSELVES!

Meanwhile I DID update the webpage at last, with the final version now in place. It's looking rather nice I reckon!

I think that's about enough for now - watch out for a couple more emails when the album comes our and then when we go on tour, and I'll see you back here same time next month for the TOUR DEBRIEFING!

Cheers,

Mark
